Swiss Cycling Academy 4 Kids
The Swiss Cycling Academy aims to ensure that cycling can be learned in a standardized way with a methodical structure.
The stages of learning to ride a bike
The Swiss Cycling Academy is divided into five levels, which are shown in the diagram below. A level consists of three stages, which build on each other.
Niveau Basics (blue): | Simple technical elements and the development of basic cycling skills are encouraged here. These skills help you to be safe on the road. |
Niveau Traffic (green): | At this level, the traffic rules and traffic-related behavior are learned. To complete this level, the bike test must be passed. To learn these skills, Pro Velo offers cycling safety courses (www.velokurs.ch). |
Niveau Skills (red): | At the Skills level, personal technique on the bike is developed further and skills that go beyond the traffic rules are deepened. |
Niveau Competition (black): | All disciplines can be discovered at this level. At the end, the riders are ready to take part in their first cycling competitions. |
Niveau Staff (yellow): | This level indicates the possibility of training as a leader. This level includes the competencies defined by Swiss Cycling for a teacher or leader. |
At the Bike World Camps powered by Swiss Cycling, we work in particular on the basics (blue) and skills (red).
